Interview with Rehat: Student Media Officer Candidate

March 5, 2012

Rehat Kathuria is running for Student Media Officer in the KUSU Elections 2012, so we found what he’s got to offer!

Why are you running?

To give all students a fair opportunity to raise concerns while being treated in a respectable manner. It also helps when the officer is friendly and approachable.

What main things do you want to achieve during your time in office?

Make all the departments at the university social media friendly. Convince all the module leaders to make use of social media to keep students informed about important updates including deadline reminders and potential cancelled lectures. Every campus is in dire need to have their library open for 24 hours. The amount of students that have raised this concern is…well, concerning.

Why do you think it is so important that students vote in the KUSU Elections?

It doesn’t take much effort to have your voice heard and when you look at the bigger picture, five minutes of your time on the uni computers to elect someone you feel will represent your views is probably one of the most satisfying things you can do. Apart from finding a meme that connects to your course. Now that’s another thing.

You can vote on MyKingston from March 12th-March15th!
